Nursing Reference Center: Your Resource for Latest Medical Info

The Nursing Reference Center, from EBSCO, is the SDH site for the latest medical research literature, disease and drug information, and patient-family education printouts. This valuable resource, located on each hospital's intranet page, is ideal for health-care providers looking for up-to-date articles on virtually any topic. Patient Education sheets can be customized and printed for patients during their stay or at discharge and contain readable information, complete with pictures and other graphics to help explain topics relevant to their care. 

For access to the Nursing Reference Center go to your facility intranet site and locate EBSCO under the a Quick Links pulldown menu on your intranet page. This page is only accessible through the SDH network and your facility's intranet site.

Nationally Recognized Nursing Fellowship  Program

Click here for information about St. David's HealthCare's innovative Specialty Nurse Accelerated Program (SNAP) fellowship, a unique nurse advancement program aimed at providing nurses an internship and intensive training in key specialty areas such as Critical Care, Emergency Care and Med-Surg. The goal of this intensive two-year program is the development of innovative solutions to address the problem of nursing shortages in these specialty areas. This unique fellowship is a model for others around the country and is designed to accelerate the time typically required for a novice registered nurse to transition toward an expert level. Training is accomplished through a combination of specialty classes, advanced simulation competencies and guided clinical practicums.
