SNAP Eligibility Requirements

The qualify for SNAP, nurses must meet all of the following requirements:

  • Have an RN or GN license and graduated with a degree from an accredited nursing school (preferably with BSN degree and GPA of 3.0 or higher)
  • Have less than 3 years of general nursing experience
  • Have less than 1 year experience in the specialty area of interest
  • Possess Texas RN licensure or eligibility
  • Have a current American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Provider card
  • Be accepted for employment by St. David’s HealthCare in one of the SNAP specialty areas
  • Successfully complete 90 days of employment; or, if already a St. David’s HealthCare employee, have a satisfactory work record with no written disciplinary actions within the previous 24 months
  • Submit completed SNAP Fellowship Application after being hired by St. David's HealthCare
