The Staff Development Division of the St David's Institute for Learning is dedicated to providing courses and training for the general staff of the St David's HealthCare. These are courses not necessarily in the clinical realm and include core Annual Update information such as OSHA guidelines, Age Specific Competencies, etc. and Crisis Prevention and Intervention (CPI).

Crisis Prevention and Intervention (C.P.I.)

CPI’s Nonviolent Crisis Intervention^® program is known worldwide for its innovative, holistic philosophy of providing care, welfare, safety and security for staff and those in their care—even during crisis moments. This program is now recognized by many as the international standard for violence prevention and intervention training. Many areas in the St David's HealthCare, such as Emergency, Critical Care, Security and others are now requiring this valuable training to help prevent conflict from escalating to physical violence.
